This award recognizes a respiratory therapists, who is a member in good standing of the CSRT, and who has made significant contributions in the field of pulmonary function testing or who has influenced others toward higher levels of achievement in pulmonary diagnostics.  The award winner, selected by the CSRT Board of Directors, will receive the award at the President’s banquet.  The winner will receive travel, accommodation and a complimentary registration to the conference.

This award is designed to honour Colya Kaminiarz for the significant contributions he made to the profession and the professional association. This award will be conferred annually at the President’s banquet during the Annual Education Conference. The CSRT welcomes nominations of RTs who are members in good standing of the CSRT and have made a significant contribution to professional practice and/or has influenced others toward higher levels of achievement in professional practice.  The Board of Directors will select the recipient of the award at its Fall meeting.

This award will be conferred annually at the President’s banquet during the Annual Education Conference. The CSRT welcomes nomination of individuals who are members in good standing of the CSRT and have made significant contributions to RT education or has influenced others toward higher levels of achievement in RT education. The Board of Directors will select the recipient of the award at its Fall meeting.

This award provides the current CSRT President with a vehicle to recognize an individual or an organization that has provided support to the President in his/her role or has made a significant contribution to the Society during his/her term of office. The CSRT President’s award is presented during the President’s banquet.

CSRT Award for Student Excellence

The award will be presented during the graduation ceremony at each education program to a student, selected by the faculty, for achievements while in the program.  The recipient of the CSRT Award for Student Excellence will receive a certificate from the CSRT, a CSRT pin and a one year CSRT membership.   Once the student has shown eligibility for a provincial license, the membership status will be changed to registered member.  Educators must submit the application form at least 3 weeks prior to the graduation ceremony.

Distinguished Honorary Awards

Distinguished Life Membership

The conferral of Life Membership represents the highest form of recognition by one’s peers, and is accordingly classified under the CSRT Distinguished Life Membership category.  A Distinguished Life Memberships is awarded as follows:

A person who is a CSRT Registered Member and has rendered distinguished services to the society may be honoured by the society through recommendation by the Board of Directors, to this classification of distinguished membership. A registered member holding office in the association shall not be eligible for nomination to this class of distinguished membership while in office. The number of Distinguished Life Members at any given time shall not exceed fifteen. Vacancies in the number of Distinguished Life Members may be filled at the rate of one (1) per year.

The Distinguished Life Member certificate is conferred to the individual during the President’s Banquet at the Annual General Conference.

Nomination and selection

Honorary Life Membership may be nominated at the discretion of the Board of Directors. A call for nominations may be sent from the CSRT Office at the request of the Board of Directors.

Honorary Life Membership

Honorary Life Membership is conferred upon individuals who have provided meritorious service to the CSRT.  An Honorary Life Membership is awarded as follows:

A person who might not otherwise be eligible for membership in the CSRT, or who is a commercial representative, and who has rendered distinguished service to the profession of respiratory therapy, may be honoured by the society through recommendation by the Board of Directors, to this classification of distinguished membership.

The Honorary Life Member certificate is presented to the individual during the President’s Banquet at the Annual Education Conference.

Nomination and selection

Honorary Life Membership may be nominated at the discretion of the Board of Directors. A call for nominations may be sent from the CSRT Office at the request of the Board of Directors.  There is no restriction on the number of Honorary Life Members at any one time.
