Editorial Policy
Purpose
CJRT is the official publication of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists. This journal publishes peer-reviewed original articles, directed-readings, commentaries, columns on education, leadership/management and student, abstracts of current literature and technological updates.
The CJRT recognizes the need to provide a Canadian-oriented publication in which authors can present their views on a broad range of respiratory-related topics. This journal affords an opportunity and a venue that meets the requirements of the scientific RT community, the RT profession, managers, administrators, industry and the public at large.
Frequency
Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Content
The CJRT welcomes a variety of essays, commentaries and original papers addressing current trends in the respiratory therapy field.
Copyright
Once published an article becomes the permanent property of the CJRT to publish or disseminate as it sees fit. All editorial matter in the CJRT represents the opinion of the authors and not necessarily those of the CJRT Board of Directors or CSRT staff. The CJRT assumes no responsibility or liability for damages arising from any error or omission from use of any information or advice contained within the CJRT. Photographs that contain a recognized individual, or a recognizable portion of an individual, require written permission to publish. Photos taken at public events, crowd shots or wide shots taken in a public places, do not require permission from the subjects.
CJRT Editing
Canadian Press Style - all items adhere, as much as reasonable, to Canadian Press Style, excluding scientific articles and external/internal advertisements which are supplied camera-ready. All materials submitted for inclusion are subject to editing for consistency, length and style. The CP Style Book and CP Caps And Spelling are used.
Editorial Decisions
The Managing Editor determines the specific content of each issue of the CJRT, in consultation with the Editorial Board and CSRT Executive Director. The final decision to publish an article, whether solicited or not, is made only after the complete text has been received.
The Managing Editor reserves the right to reject material if its style or content is considered unsuitable for the journal or to postpone publication until a later date to accommodate the production process. The Managing Editor also reserves the right to make changes - to improve the clarity of the manuscript or to shorten, as necessary. Authors may be given the opportunity to approve editorial changes prior to publication, if time permits. The Managing Editor may make last-minute changes as necessary.
Miscellaneous notes:
- All material (with the exception of advertisements) must have a direct link to respiratory therapy
- CJRT reserves the right to refuse to publish material that is deemed inappropriate for any reason.
- CJRT welcomes advertising, but can refuse to accept advertising at its discretion, based on content. Advertising rates are available upon request.
- All final materials submitted must be received by layout close. Missing the deadline might result in a publication delay or article may dropped from lineup. Production schedule is available but subject to change without notice.
