Airgas Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Sales Specialist for Alberta based in Edmonton, Red Deer, or Calgary, AB.

SUMMARY: The primary function of this job is to manage and direct the sale of medical gases and medical gas equipment at the Regional Retail Subsidiary. The main duties will be to target medical gases and equipment customers and promote Airgas “niche” product offerings. Planning and implementation of medical gases and equipment training to inside/outside retail sales associates and execution of individual strategic medical gas marketing plans will be major requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Directing the efforts of the Specialists and Retail Sales Associates (inside & outside) to develop the sales of medical gases & equipment.
• Converting current industrial/medical accounts currently buying medical gas from competitors
• Coordinating procurement and trucking of product to branch and/or customers while working with sales and marketing management to bring on new retail customers requirements.
• Increasing the sales of medical gases & equipment based on region preset targets and individual initiatives.
• Finalizing and implementing Individual Strategic Medical Gas Marketing Plans by Regional Retail Subsidiary. Setting monthly sales goals by branch/location and monthly monitoring.
• Planning and implementation of medical gas & equipment training for inside/outside retail sales associates.
• Promote specific “niche” products to specialists/retail sales associates and end user customers (i.e.-UHP Oxygen, EPA Protocols, Zero Blend mixtures, Grade 5 N20, Medical Gas Equipment)
• Convert existing gases procured from competitors to GSA supplied product.
• Implement medical gas “Target Account Planning & Tracking System” and update on a monthly basis to management.
• Analyze and recommend expansion at Regional Retail Production Facilities.
• Document and coordinate competitive market activity to VP Sales and Regional Business Managers.
• Review monthly medical gas sales to insure the correct product category coding and pricing for monthly reporting.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years experience selling exclusively medical gases & equipment while working for medical gas producer.
• Working knowledge of gas chromatography and laboratory analytical methods
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Chemistry or Natural Science from four-year college or university; Marketing or Sales, or five to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of medical pure gas and mixture production methods
• Minimum 5 years experience selling medical gas & equipment to independent distributors
• Past record of achieving minimum 20% sales growth per year.
