CSRT Raising Recognition for Respiratory Therapists
February 16, 2022
The CSRT is pleased to announce its first provincial special interest group: the New Brunswick Respiratory Therapy Special Interest Group. This initiative arose from a grassroots organization developed by New Brunswick respiratory therapists and was established in 2021 as a formal CSRT community of practice.
A key element of the CSRT Strategic Plan Professional Community pillar focuses on strengthening connections between local communities and national opportunities/initiatives. This national-provincial relationship is mutually beneficial for RTs locally and across Canada. It creates linkages between local and national advocacy efforts. By coordinating these advocacy efforts, RTs can be optimally recognized for the amazing work they do.
The New Brunswick Respiratory Therapy Special Interest Group (NBRTSIG) provides a forum for members to engage in discourse and initiatives that address issues of particular importance to RTs in NB. The mandate of the NBRTSIG is to advocate for respiratory therapists, patients and their families, and the respiratory therapy profession; to facilitate educational opportunities; and to enhance public awareness of the respiratory therapy profession.
The CSRT would like to thank the executive of the NBRTSIG for their hard work in establishing this community of practice!
Membership in this, and other CSRT networks is a CSRT member benefit. For more information on CSRT networks or to join, visit https://www.csrt.com/csrt-networks/.
